Italy Eats - Home cooking


The second half of my trip was spent in Tuscany with my friends. We stayed in a beautiful farm house a few miles from Castelfiorentino: Le Docce. As much as I enjoyed wining and dining around Florence, cooking at home was delightful. Nearly every morning we'd head to the market to pick out fresh herbs and vegetables, pasta, charcuterie, and pastry from the local bakery. Afternoon siesta, which was important in the city, seems even more pronounced in the country. We take day trips. We head to Pisa and back into Florence. But, my favorite times are spent reading and drawing and writing in the house.
